This week’s episode comes from our biggest show yet: a special live recording with Jack Whitehall in front of 2,200 fabulous Dish listeners at the Royal Opera House. A pretty surreal night for all of us and fittingly, the building used to be known as the Italian Opera House, so Angela was right on home turf!

There was a live band (thank you, Sous Chefs), a trap door, a lot of dry ice, and an audience very ready to cheer on an aubergine parmigiana. We opened with a glass of Veuve Clicquot, Nick mixed an old fashioned for Jack, and Angela served her beloved aubergine parmigiana, a Dish classic first made for Shania Twain. The Waitrose wine team paired it with a Prunotto Barolo.

While talking about his new Prime Video series Malice, where he plays a slightly disconcerting male nanny alongside David Duchovny and Carice van Houten, Jack brought exactly the right kind of chaos to the stage. Cue the very dramatic fast-food quiz under a spotlight, surprise celebrity audience spotting, and a completely unexpected goodie-bag unboxing.

And for afters? The whole thing happened on the same night as the launch party for Angela’s new restaurant, Cicoria, on the top floor of the Opera House. It doesn’t get much more iconic than that!
